Apr 2012: Hi Mom, Hi (again) Visitor, Hi Shows.

First off, when the day I'm writing this falls on the b-day of the person that's heard more songs and read more emails and in every way supported me more than anyone else ever (and, you know, helped create me), I gotta lead with that. Happy birthday, Mom. I love you!

So, I just launched my new Kickstarter project to re-visit Visitor on its 10th anniversary (http://goo.gl/V2HTB). Since the last Kickstarter was so much fun and went so well, I streamlined some stuff, kept the stuff I liked from that one and added some more stuff (Ts, hoodies, buttons, stickers, random ideas). Enjoy, and thanks for always being such an active part of this. Oh, I made the little intro video in the library. I like it (the intro and the whole project, too).

Speaking of libraries, every few years I rediscover how great public libraries are. My wi-fi has been weird lately and I've been wanting to walk around a bit more since I get kinda isolated when I get to recording and all, so it's been great to walk down to a couple libraries near me, do some work outside my little apartment, see some faces.

Speaking of seeing people, life has been so full of collaboration these days. In the past several months, I've started and/or finished tunes with so many people that I've known for so many years in any number of ways. I've written a coupla great things with Norman Brannon (Texas Is The Reason, New End, so much else), I'm working on an EP with Ian Love (Rival Schools, brilliant artist & producer), a cool guy called Jeff just sent me some great stuff he's been working with J Robbins (Jawbox, lots else) that I'm gonna sing on, wrote a song with Bob Lindsey (Gratitude), headed to start workin on some new solo stuff with Jeremy Tappero (Gratitude, Attention) producing... and lots more, for real. It may mean more project names to confuse and delight, and mostly it'll just mean more music. Some of it will be really loud, some really soft, all over the place as always.

Speaking of project names, some of you have heard already that I'm resurrecting the onelinedrawing moniker for shows and all. It just feels like home musically, and it's more fun to put on merch than my name, which gets misspelled chronically in ads for shows anyway.

Speaking of shows, I have as many booked over the next few months as I have in a while (http://goo.gl/w3uUU for a list). Some really fun festivals, lotsa great little shows in great places. And yes, I know that even with making it to all the places I am, there are so many places I haven't made it to in way too long. One easy way to remedy that is just get some friends together to chip in and make it happen. As most of you know, I'll happily rock a living room any day. Hope to see you somewhere soon, happy to see you here.
