I recorded that version of Pollyanna sometime in 1997
As my marriage and Far were both heading towards falling apart
Been several lifetimes since then
The tune/track still sounds fresh
Feels good to make it new again
Please spread the word like it was a brand-new single
It kinda is
In a related matter
I just took PSONGS down from all the streaming spaceships
An old friend from Boston is starting up a label again
And wants to release it properly to the world
He agrees with me that it got lost in the haze
I really just wanted to get it to everyone who helped create it
And I couldn't be more happy with how it all happened
So, sometime early in 2022, that music will be reborn
And there will be a lot more new music to go with it
And it will all be called onelinedrawing
I'm not sure what I am as I emerge out of the 2020/COVID haze
I just know I'm a new creature
I'm in no hurry to go back to the way things were
Happy to build back better
So when I say I'm bringing back onelinedrawing
It's not to go backwards
I've just been thinking a lot as I reset my mind and life
And I think I left onelinedrawing behind needlessly
I was reacting to the rise of corporate emo
In the early 00s
Seemed like everyone was quitting their rock bands
Starting up a pseudonym solo project
So I ditched mine and went by my name
Since then, and especially lately, I'm realizing
I always wanted onelinedrawing to be everything
Quiet stuff, loud stuff, solo lofi stuff, band hifi stuff
That was the whole point
I also realized that music is the way I want to interact with the world
And my name really doesn't matter in that context
It feels nice to save my name for my more personal life
The world doesn't need any more of my opinions
And I'm beyond tired of all the arguing and attacks
And I say it all best in songs anyway
I'm still sticking with jonahmatranga.com
Because this will always be my home on the interwebs
And you will always be welcome
I'm gonna keep IDEAS going and growing
And Always New is starting up again in August
I hope we make lots of fun stuff happen
