On September 18, Iodine Recordings will release RAINBOWMACHINE, the new album from onelinedrawing.
The album was produced by Jay Maas. It's the loudest, wildest onelinedrawing record yet. The tracks above are from the album.
There will also be the first full-band onelinedrawing shows in forever in September and October, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Far's TIn Cans With Strings To You, the 25th anniversary of Thriller, and of course the new album.
Jonah started onelinedrawing in 1998, just as his first band, post-hardcore / emo misfits Far, was breaking up.
The first onelinedrawing releases were a cassette on POPROCKIT, a label started by Kevin Seconds (7 Seconds).
Then came the Sketchy EPs, first self-released, then in various forms on various indie labels (Crank, Revelation, Corrupted Image).
During that time, onelinedrawing pioneered sliding-scale pricing for downloads and merch, monthly crowdfunded patronage (eventually released as the Always New albums), and Unique Recordings. During that time, onelinedrawing toured with and/or released music with Rival Schools, The Juliana Theory, Coheed & Cambria, Dashboard Confessional, Murder By Death, The Weakerthans, Jimmy Eat World, and more.
onelinedrawing's most recent studio album is Tenderwild, on Iodine Records.
Iodine also recently released Sketchbook, a collection of early onelinedrawing recordings 1999-2001.
onelinedrawing also has two albums (VISITOR and THE VOLUNTEERS) still on Jade Tree / Epitaph.
Over 30 years, several projects, dozens of albums, hundreds of songs, and thousands of shows, Jonah Matranga has influenced countless artists: Deftones, Frank Turner, Thursday, My Chemical Romance, Walter Schreifels, and Chris Carraba.
Jonah has also been featured on tracks by Deftones, Thursday, Fort Minor, Lupe Fiasco, Kimya Dawson, and many more.
